    Was installing a piece of major instrumentation which required low near-DC magnetic fields. Failed (slightly) on the site survey, but couldn't easily get the survey repeated, so I wanted to have something I could use for continuous monitoring in the room. Needed ~50 nanoTesla accuracy, which the normal hall-effect devices can't manage, but didn't want to pay for the really high-end devices. This was perfect. Plugged it into an AdaLogger and can do continuous measurement with excellent precision and dynamic range.
